Flag(s) are attached to the top of the rope-free pole on a harness that rotates 360 degrees to prevent tangling. To raise the flag, slide up each section of the pole and click it into place. To lower the flag, push in the button on each section and slide it down. Flags are easily attached to and removed from the rotating harness with stainless steel spring clips.
